The aquaculture industry now has the opportunity to be more proactive.

During Aqua Nor there are numerous seminars, mini-conferences, presentations, lectures and debates being held. This all contribute to keeping the visitors up-dated with the latest professional information. Some of these events are organized by the Nor-Fishing Foundation, others by exhibitors, various institutions and companies.
The seminar consists of one part including a number of lectures, plus a second part which includes practical demonstrations. The participants will be able to test, observe, verify, and ask questions as well as give their suggestions while present and future solutions are demonstrated in the harbour at Brattøra in the middle of Trondheim.
«A lot of people are talking about autonomy and the future importance of autonomy. Now everybody in the industry will have a chance to experience this through practical demonstrations rather than just reading about it,” says Maritima Robotics COO Mr. Eirik Evjen Hovstein.
Implementing new technology in the aquaculture industry
Walter Caharija is a researcher at SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture. He thinks this seminar illustrates SINTEF’s role perfectly. “This is completely in line with our main objective: technology for a better society. In the aquaculture industry we continuously succeed in developing and implementing new technology – and we wish to create a hightened awareness about this so that more operators in the industry can utilize new technology.” Says Caharija.
About the seminar
SINTEF and Maritime Robotics has enlisted the services of cooperating partners in order to show the scope and depth of the technology that is available both today and in the future.
